Hector Fox StoryWalk® launch party with Astrid Sheckels

Saturday, September 3, 11:00 am until 12:30 pm
Pine Hill Orchards

The Griswold Memorial Library and Pine Hill Orchards have teamed up to bring local author Astrid Sheckels’ book, Hector Fox and the Giant Quest to Pine Hill Orchards, where visitors can enjoy the book as a StoryWalk®!

A StoryWalk® is an innovative way to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from a children's book are displayed outdoors, where readers can enjoy the story as they walk along a designated path. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

The StoryWalk® at Pine Hill Orchards will be open to the public Labor Day weekend, with a special kickoff event on Satuday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. The author/illustrator, Astrid Scheckels will read from the book, and participants can get a first look at the new StoryWalk®. The event coincides with the start of the Pick-Your-Own season, when visitors can pick their own apples from a variety of apple trees.
