Highway Superintendent

The Town of Colrain is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Highway Superintendent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, management, supervision, direction and coordination of all functions and activities of the Highway Department and Transfer Station.

The superintendent plans, organizes and manages all operations of Highway Department including:

  • Construction, repair and maintenance of highways/roads/streets and storm drains, town-wide fleet maintenance, snow removal and the repair and maintenance of some town buildings.
  • The Superintendent oversees a department of 4-5 employees and an annual budget of approximately $700,000.

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or closely related field with seven to 10 years of progressively responsible in public works and at least five years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
