Serve on Colrain’s New Taxation Aid Committee

The Town is seeking THREE COLRAIN RESIDENTS to serve on the Taxation Aid Committee established under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 60, § 3D.

WHAT DOES THE COMMITTEE DO?

• Help establish rules and regulations for Colrain’s Elderly and Disabled Taxation Aid Fund.

• Identify eligible recipients of assistance from the fund.

• Help carry out a program designed to defray real estate taxes for low-income elderly and disabled residents.

WHO SERVES?

The five-member committee consists of the Chair of the Board of Assessors, the Town Treasurer, and three Colrain residents appointed by the Select Board.

No tax or assessing experience is required — just an interest in helping your neighbors and serving Colrain.
