One-Day Liquor License
Return to Select Board
The Select Board, the Local Licensing Authority (LLA) for the Town of Colrain, issues one-day liquor licenses pursuant to and in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws c. 138 § 14.
The completed application must be submitted three weeks in advance of the requested date to allow enough time to be processed and approved by the Select Board. All applicants must be present on the date the application will be considered by the Select Board.
The LLA cannot grant special licenses to:
- any person for more than a total of 30 days per calendar year,
- to any person that has an on premises license application pending before it,
- any premises that has an alcoholic beverages license.
Restrictions:
The Select Board has the authority to place restrictions on the license to ensure control of the alcohol being served and public safety.
Special Licensees CANNOT purchase alcoholic beverages from a package store. All alcohol must be purchased from an authorized source (list of Authorized Sources).
Fees:
- $25 – cash or check made payable to Town of Colrain
- Paid at the time the license is granted/picked up
